of upper Texas coast. Fishing, water sports. About 18
miles northeast of Houston via U.S. 90 east to Barrett
Station, and north on F.M. 2100. Also accessible from
Humble via F.M. 1960 east.
Commercial
facilities in the upper reservoir offer camping, boat
access, fishing and other services. One City of Houston
park, Deussen Park, located near the dam, offers camping
and boat access.

From US 59: Exit FM 1485/New Caney. E on FM 1485 to Loop
494. R on Loop 494 to signal light. L over railroad tracks
at FM 1485 E; 1.5 mi to Baptist Incampment Rd. and Lake
Houston State Park sign. R 1.5 mi to park entrance on
L. 15 mi from Lake Houston. East Fork of the San Jacinto,
Peach & Caney Creeks. Tent sites, 24; limit 14 days.
Primitive tent camping; limit 14 days. Fl and chem toilets,
showers, tables. Volleyball; bicycle, horse and nature
trails.
